RI Society of Professional Engineers


RISPE is a professional organization comprised of licensed Professional Engineers across all engineering disciplines. As an organization, RISPE endeavors to leave a lasting impact on the community through volunteerism and citizenship, as well as advocating for the rights and roles of Professional Engineers in society at-large.



The Structural Engineers Association of Rhode Island (SEARI) formed in 1998 is a non-profit organization established to pursue common interests of practicing structural engineers and others sharing an interest in the activities of structural engineers.

Providence Engineering Society


Founded in 1894 and is the oldest professional engineering society in the United States. The Society offers engineers opportunities to network, improve their technical competence, and socialize with fellow professionals. The Society is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization dedicated to education and the exchange of information among the various engineering organizations servicing the Rhode Island area and offers opportunities to bring professionals together for recognition, fellowship, and the exchange of information.

RI Transportation Research Center


The Rhode Island Transportation Research Center (RITRC) conducts interdisciplinary studies in the areas of intelligent transportation infrastructure and systems. Research efforts cover all modes of transportation land, sea and air. We also undertake several intermodal transportation projects.
